  • Two A Tea

This tea house is quite comfortable, and is decorated quite nicely. It is easy to relax and enjoy. The food here ranges greatly in quality. The soup (chicken and wild mushroom) was just EXCELLENT, and the salad was tasty as could be and more than filling. The tea sandwiches however were disappointing. The bread for all three varities was plain white bread, and not very fresh either. The fillings were less than bland. I was very surprised at how disappointed I was in the sandwiches since just thinking about the soup and salad make my mouth water. The scones were delicious. They were big and moist. The scones were a cherry, coconut flavor and I enjoyed every bite -- I don't even like coconut. One scone at our table of four was served with a few long blonde hairs coming out of the bottom. This was, needless to say, quite unappetizing! I was surprised that the tea was not loose, and instead brewed from bags. I can do this at home. I do enjoy loose leaf tea at a tea parlour. The ambiance is lovely, and the servers are quite friendly. Maybe too friendy. When I go to tea, I want to enjoy the company at my table. Both the server, Barbara, and the owner spent quite a bit of time (over 30 minutes) at our table telling us about their families, goals for the future, past reviews, etc. That's not what I have in mind for conversation at tea. I don't even know them - I wanted quality time with my family. Overall, a satisfying experience if you're good at cutting short a conversation, and don't want tea sandwiches.
