Sweet Afton Tea Room and Restaurant
Today was my birthday and also the day i graduate middle school. My mom asked my where i wanted to go for lunch the Sweet Afton was a personal favorite of mine and so that's exactly where we went. The last time i went there it was under different ownership and the service had been awful, but the new owners have perfected it's old flaw's. The waiter was friendly and kind and always smiling, and the owners came wright up to us and asked what we thought of everything. Not to mention the perfect food. I ordered the plowers lunch. It's assortment of cheeses and thick tomato soup was Delicious with a warm french bread. My mother had the shepherds pie. She thought it was wonderful but could have used a tad more gravy, and of course I'm forgetting the best part the teas. I had the Lady Grey tea which was just fabulous and my mom had a Apple Cinnamon sweet tea which is her favorite as well. Finally we got to desert. i had a warm scone and mom had butter tarts which reminded both of us of are childhood. Me of sweet grandmas home in Canada and mom of her nans Scottish tarts. All together we had a lovely time and enjoyed every second. I forgot to mention the new look of the place. The old owners had it overly crowded with to many shelves and ornate dishes now it's a much calmer space with much less to distract you form what a good time your having. This restaurant deserves the number one rank in Michigan it already has. A FIVE STAR RATTING ALL THE WAY!
