I visited Elise's Tea Room on Christmas Eve. I ordered the High Tea. The tea was very good as were the sandwiches, scones and salad. The Quiche however, was a Nancy's frozen variety from any grocery store. I know because I eat them all the time! I thought this was really tacky. Quiche is very easy to make. The desserts were average to below average. Overall the food was disappointing. I don't know if I would go back.

    Tearoom response:

I regret to inform that you are mistaken with our quiches. They are not the type of quiches that you speak of. However, we do get them premade. In order to make them fresh, it will take a lot more time and money than a small business is made for. Being in culinary chef,I know that to make an excellent quiche requires a certain amount of technique and precision. People expect more from us, but we are just a small business whose goal is to provide a simple, yet delightful tea dining experience. During the summer we offered a new equisitely gourmet menu that included Marsala mushroom chicken, shrimp fettucini alfredo, chipotle chicken, and so much more. However, nobody cared to come for this special menu, and those who did not care to order this type of food. This is not the only time we've tried to offer something more extravagant and failed. Those who come here just want the simple sandwiches and petite desserts that we have offered for the past 11 years. So far, that is what have kept us in business. We only serve what people like. Also, in order to serve something more gourmet, the prices will be higher. People do not want to pay higher prices, and we do not wantraise our prices, which have stayed relatively the same for the past 11 years.
