Paddington's Tea Room
I was extremely disappointed in Paddington's Tea Room in Beverly Hills. First of all, after looking at their website, I was expecting an elegant looking place only to find out that the pictures that they posted on their website are of outside catering events that they have done. When quickly glancing at a website to get an overview, one does not realize that these are different pictures. That in itself bugged me. For the price of $25.00 you get a choice of decaf or regular 'house' tea. If you want any other kind of tea, any other flavor, it is extra and they hand you a menu which is like a wine list. You get a about 4 to 5 kinds of small finger sandwiches, which were mediocre at best. Then, we each got ONE scone with cream and jam, which was the best part of the tea. After that, one chocolate covered strawberry, one madelaine with raspberry filling and one nasty tasting coconut candy that was too sweet. I felt it was a total rip off. The worst part for me was when I had to use the restroom and found it to be deplorable. It looked like a beach bathroom. On a better note, the inside decor is very charming and cozy looking. Lots of pretty china and stuffed animals and pillows. Lots of stuff on the walls. I dont think I will be returning to Paddington's any time soon.
