High Tea Cottage
I was lucky enough to enjoy tea at this 'Tea Spa' last Saturday. One member of my party was handicapped, in a wheel chair and required much assistance, while another required the use of a walker. As soon as I returned home, I sent off the following note to the proprietor: I was in that high maintenance foursome at your wonderful cottage for Tea today. I just had to write and thank you for a magical afternoon. Being passionate about tea, the beverage, and tea, the meal, I have been to many of the tea houses in the Southland, as well as to hotels that serve afternoon tea. None compares with your establishment. You provide all the elegant and formal elements of a festive cream tea, and yet, there is nothing pretentious about the experience. Your charming sense of humor and whimsy adds just the right spice to the proceedings. The uniqueness and charm of your presentation was so appreciated by our party, especially the presentation and selection of the teas and the serving of the scones. The unexpected addition of the (holiday) gifts was delightful. They were tasteful and lovely. You even added an extra one in recognition of my birthday! My friend Paula was the gal in the wheelchair. Getting out and about is getting harder and harder, but you and your staff made every effort to make our visit comfortable. You truly have a gem in your employee, Carlos. His gentleness, patience and kindness were humbling. I am sorry that we took him away from his regular duties for so long. Many thanks to you, Sheree and Carlos from one who intends to become a regular!!
