My husband, best friend, and I were looking for a fun and different experience for a night out. We had heard good things from many about Victorene's and decided to attend the Halloween Ghost Tour & Tea on October 20, 2012. Victorene's is located in a LOVELY area and we really enjoyed our hour drive to the event looking at the BEAUTIFUL countryside and the color of the changing leaves (very relaxing & stress reducing)! Victorene's is located in a gorgeous mid 1800's Victorian farm house which is the owner's residence. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately at our reserved table upon arrival. The home is absolutely LOVELY and decorated BEAUTIFULLY! There were so many GREAT Halloween touches and the other guests there were all so friendly and very nice! The owner and hostess, Chris Cole was just so warm and welcoming and you can tell that she absolutely LOVES what she does! Her niece Emily was a wonderful server and was also extremely nice! We were served two kinds of tea (Pomegranate Vanilla and Blackberry Sage) and they were both WONDERFUL!!! The food that was served both looked and tasted AMAZING and was a very special treat for us. Chris served a very delicious sweet potato & pear bisque soup that all of us LOVED! The sandwiches served were a club with brown sugar ham with delicious cheese and mixed greens and a dijon egg salad on a croissant. My husband can't eat eggs, so Chris graciously made certain that she had an extra club sandwich for him - and also was sensitive to the fact that others may have nut allergies - so she obmitted nuts from the menu. A delicious pumpkin scone was served with a generous amount of amazing cinnamon cream cheese spread. There were also wonderful chocolate covered strawberries and pumpkin shortbread kisses cookies. My husband had never been to a tea before and he LOVED EVERYTHING and had a GREAT time! After the tea, it was a nice touch that Chris had some of the scones and cookies available for sale to take home to enjoy later!!! After the tea, Chris talked about a ghostly experience that she had in the house and also showed us a video of what she experienced. We then went on a short walk to a park across the street to discuss the Adena Indians that had burial mounds there. All three of us had a FANTASTIC time and keep talking about what a fun evening we had. We HIGHLY recommend Victorene's and will definitely be going back to another event there - - hopefully soon!!! We heard that Chris will be hosting a Christmas tea on December 8th and 9th - so if I were you, I would check it out - because I am sure that the teas will sell out fast and I am certain that the food and decorations will be top notch and will put you in the Christmas spirit!!!
