The Royal Tea Room & Restaurant
What a perfect afternoon for my houseguest and me! We didn't even order tea, but had a late lunch of crab soup and sandwich, scones, and dessert. Everything was delightful and delicious. The multi-grain bread used for my tuna salad sandwich was perfect, as was the tuna salad. My friend's lemon curd and cream on scone were dreamy. The crab soup was rich and hearty and oh so tasty. It was all beautiful. Then we spent the rest of an idyllic afternoon visiting the five rooms of antiques and gifts, finding one-of-a-kind gifts for ourselves and our friends. This is not a 'stop by if you're in the neighborhood' kind of place; the Royal Tea Room is a destination in itself. The great old 1929 house seems to be just made for everything the owners are doing there. There's no need to search any further. This is the place.
