The Pegg House Tea Room
A friend and I had afternoon tea at Pegg House yesterday. What a jewel to find in the town of Kernersville. Ruth, the proprietor, came out to talk to us and made us feel as though we were visiting her in her home. The service was excellent and the tea fare was superb!! Wonderful chicken salad in crispy little tartlet shells, tea sandwiches and other savories topped with a wonderful sweet selection. The scones are the piece de resistance. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the town for those who don't know Kernersville. After we were well sated, Ruth brought out a sample of her signature strawberry cake which sent us over the proverbial edge. Very light and delicious. Try it once and, like us, you will be glad you've discovered a place to take respite from the world's fray on any afternoon.
