  • The Joy Garden

What a perfect name for this Tea Room! In July I drove from Bedford County to the Joy Garden to meet friends for an afternoon tea. Upon arrival we all met in the most delightful gift shop and then walked together through a beautiful victorian garden toward what looked like a conservatory. Just before entering the tea room there was a fountain and an array of blooming flowers. The tea room was indeed inside the conservatory and was bright and cheerful. We started our hot summer day with an iced mojito tea while cooling off and selecting our hot tea selections. The tea menu had all varieties and flavors of teas. We selected a blueberry/vanilla black tea and a pineapple white tea and both were brewed perfectly and so tasty. We started our tea with a lite salad of greens, fruits and berries. The homemade scones and the unique selection of tea sandwiches that followed were not only delicious but presented in such a fashion that they were worthy of picture taking. We leisurely enjoyed the food while sipping our tea and catching up on each other's lives. The servers at the tea room were friendly and cheerful and beautiful -- just like the Joy Garden. To finish our meal we were served raspberry sorbet surrounded by bite sized pastries. We selected a chocolate/strawberry dessert tea for this. Somehow almost 3 hours had gone by and it was time to say good-bye. We all agreed that we should take time to meet here again. It was worth the trip. May God continue to bless The Joy Garden owners and staff as they serve others at this beautiful place.

  • Bell Mansion Tea House

From the moment I walked in the door and heard Mozart's Quartet in the background, I felt like I stepped back in time to a more relaxing era. The atmosphere alone was worth the visit before we even ordered our tea. The summer special seaside tea was unique and refreshing. After ordering our tea (mine being the delicious golden monkey) we started with a dish of sorbet sprinkled with coconut and a champagne glass of sparkling grape juice to cleanse our palates. Next came the lite spinach salad with strawberries and almonds dressed with a vinaigrette and soup du jour - creamy chicken and wild rice - served in a delicate teacup with tiny cheddar bisquits. Finally came the coconut/lime scones with lemon curd and devonshire cream and our tea sandwiches. We leisurely ate, chatted, sipped our tea and enjoyed the relaxing music and atmosphere of a beautifully restored mansion. We started to plan our next visit before we completely finished this visit. May God bless the family and staff at Bell Mansion as they continue to offer a place of refreshing for us.

    Tearoom response:

Babs, Thank-you for your review. It was our pleasure serving you and look forward to seeing you again. God Bless.

Eternity Tea Room has to be the most relaxing place to visit. Each time I return I feel like it has been much too long since I have been there last. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, never hurried or rushed. The tea selection is remarkable and the food is the finest. Debbie and Cheryl are both so kind and soft-spoken that you feel like their friend immediately. God is using them and this place to help those of us who need to find some quiet peaceful moments with friends and a cup of tea. May God continue to bless this place.
