The Roswell Teahouse
I am writing in praise of The Roswell Teahouse. I stumbled on it by accident (It’s a little off the usual Historic Roswell path, a couple of blocks down Magnolia street, below Mimosa). Tea, atmosphere, tea, good food, tea, health, tea, culture, ‘Ritzy’ high tea, and tea! I’ve never seen such a selection of teas and documentation enough to educate even a tea-connoisseur. The aim of the teas listed is health, purification, and longevity, taste, as well as the “culture” of tea. You can also reserve a “High Tea” experience a la The Ritz Hotel (I’ve heard at the Ritz, the sandwiches are pre-made while at The Roswell, the scones are fresh & still warm). The other food has the same focus on health as well as flavor, with some Belgian influence from the owner (try the vole au vent!). The music & atmosphere is lovely & soothing, enhanced by work that decorates the place from regional & international artists & craftspeople. I’m told that the art changes monthly. This is a great escape from shopping hub-hub or work stress: a spa for the mind & palette.
