Simpson House Tea Room
I hosted a baby shower here. What a disappointment! The waitress had no personality, no knowledge of the menu and rushed us even though we had a private room. The decor was very nice -- clean, simple, pleasant and bright. The scones were delicious but the tea sandwiches were bland and on regular bread. I paid for a tray of desserts and they were clearly not homemade,not fresh and not attractively presented. The restaurant was nice to work with when I made the arrangements but not a spot for a special event.

In response to this review, I too am disappointed....in our customer for not bringing all these grievances to us in person so that we could try to amend her complaints.Am sorry that Sarah felt the waitress had no personality but as for her 'no knowledge of the menu' this was a pre-order of food so I wish she had asked one of the owners her questions not the waitress. Also, she booked her small event for 2 hours...we sat them a half hour before her time & let then stay a half hour extra. I guess the rushing part came as we were trying to clear the room as we had another event booked an hour after hers. As for the mini desserts....they were made by a baker we use and I am sorry she was disappointed. Also on the tray was my grandmother's holiday nut roll recipe which has pleased generations of our family. As for the tea sandwiches on bread....we have been making them this way for almost 11 years. I really would like to know what other kind of bread tea sandwiches should be made on. If Sarah would be so kind, I would like to speak with her especially about the wait staff issues as we have not had a complaint about her before.
