The English Rose Tea Room and Gifts
I have been to the English Rose with my daughter several times, including for her sixth and seventh birdays just as a nice time with her mom. I have been to two other tea rooms in California (San Francisco and Sacramento), and the English Rose is the very best tea room I have experienced. The room inside is beautifully decorated without being cluttered. When you walk in, you feel like you have stepped into a very special place. Everything is clean and nicely presented. The outdoor seating is comfortable and charming. Best of all is the quality of the good and the tea. All of the food is prepared in the kitchen. The teas are fresh and perfectly brewed, and you can try as many teas as you want from their extensive list. The savory and sweet selections that accompany the tea are all delicious, fresh, and nicely presented on proper afternoon tea serviceware. Of course, the scones are delicious and are always served with fresh jams, lemon curd, and clotted cream. The English Rose also has teas for children. With the children's tea comes a marshmallow sandwich, or PBJ, or marshmallw-peanut butter sandwich that is shaped like a rose with a red rose or butterfly stamp or picture on the top of the bread (food coloring). Also included is a good, balanced combination of fresh and dried fruits, cookies and petit fours, nuts, scones and clotted cream and jams. This makes coming to the English Rose with adults and young children a fun event for all. The owner is also very kind and cheerful, as are the staff. I highly recommend the English Rose.
