Currently living in Virginia, my daughters, ages 18 and 16, and I recently returned to San Diego for a visit. One of the first things we thought to do would be to go to 'Tea Upon Chatsworth'. During the 2 years we lived in San Diego we tried to go every month or so. I called Thursday morning and Joy was very happy to hear we would like to come to tea. I also arranged for my daughters to bring two friends along. We were so warmly greeted by Joy and Carol, who had served us often. When I explained that one of the girls was not coming after all, the extra place setting was removed and we chatted while giving our order for tea. I am rather a purist so I prefer unflavored tea and my favorite is the House Blend. My girls love the variety of flavored teas. Our tea was served properly steeped and ready to pour. We enjoyed conversation while waiting for our food. At the last minute, the girl who wasn't going to attend called to say she could and was across the street. Even though our food was ready to serve, Carol quickly took the late arrival's order, set her place and withing minutes, our delicious food was on the table. We had a wonderful time. Her choices are far from mundane. She even manages to make food items that I usually don't eat, wonderful. I wish I could get my scones that light. She includes warm savories, cold sandwiches, fresh fruit, scones with heavenly clotted cream and rose jam, along with a variety of desserts. We always take the full selection of High Tea, the price is absolutely worth it. The tea pot is as never ending as you wish and you CAN change variety. We left sated and full of good wishes. Joy's menu changes seasonally ans I wish I could go back for each one. Thank you, Joy and Carol, for your friendship too. Carol Nichols,Oakton, VA
