D's Victorian Teas
This was my first experience with high tea. I was absolutely impressed with the setting and decor. The atmosphere was calm and cozy, with soft music playing in the background. The home was tastefully decorated with precious antiques and tea cups and accessories. The outside of the house was also beautiful, well-kept. We (myself and two others on the party) were seated and able to choose from a variety of individually wrapped tea bags. We each had our own personal tea pots with hot water. Specific menu items served (some seasonal): cinnamon vanilla and lemon poppyseed sweet breads, carrot ginger soup, spinach and bacon quiche, orange cranberry scone with clotted cream and jam, finger sandwiches including chicken salad on croissant, cucumber and dill cream cheese, and cinnamon raison bread with carrot cream cheese. There was also a sampling of desserts including a triple layer peanut butter chocolate brownie, carrot cake, and lemon sandwich cookie with buttercream. We were so full we had to take our dessert to go. Such an enjoyable afternoon! Would absolutely recommend this establishment. The service and experience were top notch.
