Pickwick Society Tearoom Gifts & Antiques
My friend and I traveled a great distance to try out 'Illinois' #1 TeaRoom'. While everything was fine, we were in no way overly impressed. Walking in we felt like it was very 'Grandma's Kitchen', quaint. The server was very nice and pleasant, food was good-but mostly sweet; we felt like we needed more savory items. It would have been nice to have a choice of desserts, versus just a sampler of the breads/cookies/cake. The tea room complimented the surrounding shopping

LaTeaDa Tea Room & Gift Shop
I'm not sure where 'Unsatisfied' was, but I find it hard to believe it was at LaTeaDa. I have been there a couple times and I think it is the best Tea Room I've been to. I have gone with a big group and also with just a few of us. I love their changing lunch menu, the bread pudding is to die for, just like the chicken salad and I've always had great service. The have a terrific gift shop too. I would suggest this tea room to anyone that appreciates great atmosphere and terrific food. They also have their own special iced tea that is super sweet and delicious. I just wish I could go there more often. I guess you can't make all of the people happy all of the time....but they definitely have me hooked. I'll be back many times!
