122 Kansas St, Frankfort, IL 60423, USA 815-806-8140 Website Owner?

Come enjoy a relaxing afternoon in our cottage style tearoom located in the building housing the first hotel in Frankfort built in 1855. With a theme based on the novel Little Women each menu item is named for and designed in the spirit of the characters. Try our scone of the day with a different flavor scone each day. Our soon-to-be-famous quiche is a big favorite as are our muffins and other sweets.

Seating is available outside in better weather in front on our vintage tables. Call for reservations.

Look on-line for our sixth season of Timely Teas, a series of six themed tea events to entertain and enlighten our guest with teas from different periods in time.

I visited the Pickwick Tearoom with three friends this past Sunday. The sandwiches were very good - a nice assortment. Enjoyed the Spiced Chai Tea. Each of us chose our own tea and had an individual pot. There was a good variety of desserts (small cookies and cakes) but I was disappointed that no scones were included in 'Jo and Beth's Afternoon Tea.' The service was attentive and the atmosphere was calm and quiet. The manager was friendly.

I happened upon Frankfort because I was visiting an old high school friend who now lives in the Chicago area. I was visiting from France and was pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful tea room in this small American town, I love the warm atmosphere, and was very well received by Cindy, the owner. I hope to be back before long.

I am lucky enough to live 10 minutes away from the Pickwick tea room and I go for a cup of tea and a scone as often as I can. Not only is the food delicious, and the teas varied, but the people who work there are simply wonderful, and make the whole difference.

My friends and I had a lovely afternoon at the Pickwick society tea room. We were there for a high tea luncheon. The food was delicious and the filling. A very pleasant atmosphere with nice background music. The variety of teas was endless. Everyone in our group tred different teas and loved them. If you are red for a great experience, put on your hat and gloves and have some tea at Pickwick Tea Room.

I love Pickwick their tea variety is pretty broad and a lot of the teas there i never knew existed. As for the good the scones have to be the best there although the rest of the food is good ,but it is lacking just a little variety. Over all the service is great with that Victorian home feel to it and the staff are very friendly people. Pickwick is truly number 1 in Illinois!

What a wonderful place for an event!!!! I hosted a bridal shower at the Pickwick Society Tea Room and they were so accomidating and just lovely people! Each guest got their own pot of tea and the variety of teas to choose from was extensive. Many of us shared with one another, so as to be able to sample several of the great varieties and the teas were wonderful. Also the food was outstanding and the experience as a whole was unique and very special.

What a joy it was to experience the Tearoom! I recently lost my youngest child and I desired a calming, warm, and nostalgic environment to meet with a dear friend. We both received our wish, consumed red tea and coffee, great scones, and the bacon and lorraine quiche. Our service was great, the table and chair setting was intimate, and the colorful antiques reminded me of the preciousness of life. My palate and heart were well nourished! A visit to the Tearoom will become a monthly outing.

I am a frequent guest at pickwick, I go for the scones, as a person who loves to bake, can say they are fantastic ..I love the tea selection and presentation. One of the other reasons I go so often is the unmatched atmosphere. There are few places as quaint and welcoming, I get so sick of freezing in Starbucks or not being able to hear the person your lunching with over the commotion at Panera .

I've been to Pickwick twice in the past two months, and both times were superb. The first time was for a baby shower, and they served each guest a pot of tea along with scones, cream, preserves, finger sandwiches, and finger desserts. Everything was excellent. The second time was for lunch. I ordered their full-size egg sandwich off of the menu along with a pot of tea, a scone, cream, and preserves. Everything was consistently great the second time around as well. I plan to make having lunch at Pickwick a regular event. So far, my top tea choice is their organic French Breakfast tea, which is incredibly smooth and flavorful. However, they have many other options that I look forward to having.

THE BEST! The Pickwick Tea Society is a great experience. The scones, muffins, 'Little Women' theme offerings, and the great variety of teas are all top drawer! The menu groups the teas by variety and the servers are very knowledgeable about the offerings. After exploring the shops around the Village Green in Frankfort, the Pickwick is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a great cup of tea! Went with my granddaughter and the children's menu was perfect. Her tea was served with a small tea pot and beautiful one-of-a-kind tea cup & saucer. The tearoom also has lots of unusual gift items which we enjoyed looking at after our tea. A GREAT EXPERIENCE,

We have been going to Pickwick Society Tearoom for years. We have introduced many friends to the Tearoom as well. It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with attentive service (but not hovering-as another reviewer pointed out). It has an extensive tea menu which changes with the season, so there is always something new to try. The food is all made at the Tearoom and is delicious. As other reviewers have pointed out the staff is happy to accommodate dietary restrictions as well as children's varied requests. It is a lovely place to have a party or a shower or just to relax & catch up with friends.

The owner is an old friend we had not seen in years and she took time to visit without neglecting other customers. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. Next time I'm in town I will be sure and have tea there again.

My second time to Pickwick and well worth the hour drive from Valparaiso, IN. 4 girls out for full tea and it was wonderful. The scones were flaky and delicious, the sandwiches fresh and flavorful, and the desserts...incredible. I would recommend this to anyone who loves afternoon tea or who just wants an afternoon of relaxing fun. I have been to over 20 tea shoppes in the US and abroad and would rate this as second only to a 5 star hotel in Geneva Switzerland. Try it!

I have been to many afternoon teas in Illinois and other states. This tea was one of my favorites. We had the 'afternoon tea' for $17. It included a nice variety of fresh fruit, 6 tea sandwiches each, 5 desserts each and a pot of tea each. I found the price to be lower than many other teas with the same quantity. We ate the tea as 'lunch' and could not even finish the desserts. The owner greeted us and brought over 43 varieties of tea. She had glass containers of each tea so that we could see and smell each variety. Her knowledge of the tea surpassed that of any tea I have ever had. My tea was brewed well, though I do have to agree with one previous comment: we were seated by the front window and it was not warm in there! We kept layers on the entire time, and the temperature did cool off the tea. The owner checked on us many times, though, and when we mentioned that our tea had cooled off, she made us new pots and put cozies on the pots (which really helped). The sandwiches were very good and not as 'strange' as some teas I have been too (cucumber, lemon curd which was great, a fresh red pepper, turkey w/ a good mustard, apple bread w/ cream cheese--obviously homemade and very good, chicken salad--which was slightly dry). I would give every sandwich a '10' except that chicken salad. The desserts were themed for 'holidays' so included eggnog, ginger and lemon flavoring. They were all homemade and most were very good. The best was a chocolate cupcake w/ peppermint frosting. The establishment was charming with a great view of the outdoors--a very casual and homey feeling. I will definitely go back (and ask for a tea cozy, and perhaps a warmer table).

I have been coming to this tea room for years. I cannot get over how consistantly good it is. I saw one person said something about sugar cubes. I don't miss them. I KNOW they make all their own savories and desserts. Nothing is 'store bought'. I am a huge fan of the ham salad they make for some special events (I have been at a few) and the scones and their homemade lemon curd. Such a special place where I always feel at home.

Hosted an event for my Mom. Most of the attendees are not tea drinkers. But the owner came out, explained the variety of tea and how much caffeine in the tea. Which was perfect since my Grandma cannot have caffeine. And those who know tea were impressed with the selection. The food was great, enjoyed by all, they even accommodated the youngest tea member by giving her PB&J with her tea. And accommodated the oldest tea member by giving her a pumpkin bar instead of the brownie dessert selection. The room itself is comfortable and cozy. The service was efficient, and had a cheerful patient waitstaff.

Unfortunately for us we were very disappointed. We had a tea reservation for 3 on a Sunday afternoon. There was only 1 other tea reservation for a large party while we were there and we were seated right next to them. It was very distracting because they were a large group celebrating a birthday. I cannot comment on the service because we received NO service. We were not greeted, not spoke to unless we asked questions, given no information about the food we were served until we asked. Very odd for a tea room. The tea was delicious, although there are no sugar cubes. The silverware was a lovely silver plate wrapped in a white paper napkin, also odd. The cinnamon scone was good, again odd that you aren't served lemon curd. The savories were average with some pre packaged frozen phyllo's which the server didn't know what to call. The desserts were mostly store bought, although the carrot cake appeared to be home made, as well as the shortbread being overbaked. Very disappointing as we were all in for a surprise 50th birthday. Nothing special about this tea room.

Been coming here for years and it ALWAYS has the best food, staff and items for sale. It is great for a walk in [the tea counter for a quick take out] or a sitmedown. When i have gone in with the granddaughters they are most accomadating to there tastes (whatever the girls age). One is all cucumber sandwiches another only peanut butter{no jam} - no problem. I particularly like to stop in after going through the Frankfort Farmers Market. Just two blocks away it is nice to walk through it shop and/or eat through it and then head to the Pickwick for a sitmedown of tea-scone-soup/fruit plate etc.... AND then head bcak out to shop at the other businesses in town and lst (for me) to the ALways Open for the Sunday papers, milk etc....

However anyone else sees the Pickwick i think it is a lovely place to either start or end the day. 42stars to it. Many thanks.

I love this place! So warm and inviting. I must admit, I read a previous review about their 'Full Tea' and I was prepared to leave hungry (I mean, are you supposed to be stuffed after high tea?). I was so satisfied. There was more than enough for a meal. Basically, the equivalent of 2 whole sandwiches (I counted) plus 6 finger desserts, a full sized scone a piece and a tea cup full of soup. I thought it was more than enough. My little pot of tea was refilled as often as I wanted (I love Earl Gray bu ventured our of my comfort zone to a Tangerine Ginger...yum!). I heartily recommend this tea room. The care was obvious and the food in house made (they said) and it tasted very fresh. Yes, it is $28.00 or so a person, but well worth it. So much food!

The experience we had at the Pickwick Society Tearoom was unforgettable. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the tea was wonderful. We were there during the Christmas season and the tearoom looked very festive and inviting. There was a cookie walk that day in the town and the Pickwick Society was one of the stops. We had fun watching the people come in all excited about the day and stopping for their cookies. St Nickolas also stopped by, wishing all a Merry Christmas. I was impressed with the staff and their knowledge of the teas and the large variety they offer there. One of my favorite things about the tea room is the menu. The theme of the Pickwick Society is from the book 'Little Women' and the menu was a great reflection of the book. I was also impressed with the owner of the tearoom. She took time with each table of customers. She talked with them and answered any questions they had. She talked to us for a little while. She was full of information and just very nice to talk to. First you have to understand that after visiting some extraordinary tea rooms through the years in Michigan, Kentucky and Ohio - my expectations are very high. For me, my experience at the Pickwick Society Tearoom was average at best.

After making a reservation for two, I had traveled a long way (from Michigan) to visit the #1 tearoom in Illinois, only to be greeted very lukewarmly (even after sharing how far I had come).

We were off to a bumpy start, but after asking to shift our table assignment to a location better fitting intimate conversation (the table for two on the porch), I asked the same hostess to 'tell us a little about the history of the tearoom.' She abruptly excused herself and disappeared into the kitchen, never to return.

'Kevin' did return however, and anything positive that happened from there on out was due to his kind and professional customer service. He's a keeper.

Tearoom Average - Kevin's customer service, Excellent!

My daughter and I have been regulars for over 2 years. I can't say enough about this place! The atmosphere is so friendly and relaxing. We feel like family and can while away hours there. As for the food, absolutely delicious! The scones, quiche and the sandwiches (chicken salad especially) are so good we haven't felt the need to try anything else. Of course I admit we have had a sweet or two. We look forward to seeing you - we're there every weekend.

I have been a loyal customer of the Pickwick Society Tearoom for at least three years. I love the friendly atmosphere. The tearoom is quaint, inviting and relaxing. The owner and staff go out of their way to make everyone welcome. I am African American and have never been discriminated against by anyone while dining there. The teas are wonderful, the food is delicious and the clientele are equally as friendly. I highly recommend this dining experience. The Pickwick Society is a wonderful place to have tea and talk.

I am so happy to give an excellent review to my favorite place to have tea and relax with my friends.Since December, when I first started going to the tearoom I have been there 5 or 6 times. Each time the staff have been wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable about their tea. The service is wonderful and it is great to just be able to sit and relax. You can tell that the staff and owner have a passion for what they do.I have learned so much about tea from them. I have now got my family interested in the great tea that they have and have purchased many of them including the great mugs!! I will forever go to the tearoom when I need to chill out, want a good cup of tea or great lunch. I can not wait for March 21 which is a special event which is Lunch with Mrs. Potter Palmer. I am taking my Mom for her birhtday.

Thank you Cindy and the gang for making my trip to your Tearoom a delight.

My husband and I have been loyal patrons of the Pickwick Society Tearoom since the day it opened. We love it. The atmosphere is so warm and relaxing. The food is absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh and homemade. The bakery goods are wonderful. But it's not just the delicious treats or the homey atmospere that make it our favorite place to visit, it's the welcoming and personable staff that make the tearoom feel as if we're visiting a close friends home. We visit at least once a week, it's truly my 'therapy' when life gets crazy. I would recommend the tearoom to anyone who is looking for excellent food and a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

I am an African American female who has been coming to Pickwick's for the past three years. I have NEVER been made to feel anything but welcomed. Both the staff and owner have been more than courteous and genuinely pleasant. They are extremely helpful in describing the various teas with a knowledge of their history. The quality of food has always been top-notch,fresh and presented appetizingly. I will continue to go there and highly reccomend it to anyone of any ethnic background.

When I first heard about this tearoom from a loyal customer, I was very much looking forward to having tea there. And, I can honestly say that my first impression of it was very good. However, during subsequent visits I have had poor service, been made to wait unusually long to order and for my food to be served (when the restaurant was almost completely empty), and have been made to feel that I am decidedly unwelcome. Since I am an 'ethnic' American, I can only conclude that the owner and the staff of the Pickwick Society Tearoom are highly uncomfortable with a culturally diverse client base, and therefore does not desire one. In good conscience I CANNOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone, and I WILL NOT BE RETURNING there . . . EVER.

My mother, grandmother and two young daughters, ages 4 & 6, yes - four generations, visited the tea room on Decemeber 13, 2009 for 'Tea with Santa.' This was our third annual visit and it's a delight that we look forward to every time. Kid-friendly to say the least! A cozy, charming and very festive atmosphere that made us feel like we were part of the family. I highly recommend 'Tea with Santa,' for any group, especially if comprised of young ladies!!

Beth enjoyed the Organic French Breakfast tea and I the Tropical Green tea. It was really nice to smell the aroma of the tea leaves before selecting our tea. The food was delicious, and presentation showed that details mattered to the owner. The setting was quanit, and festive holiday decorations and tablecloths added to the experience. Cloth napkins, however, would have been nice. I would definetly go back the next time I visit the area and recommend

If there was a higher rating then excellent, I would give it to the Pickwick Society tearoom. We have always had a pleasant experience on our numerous visits. They serve whole leaf tea with tremendous variety. The staff is all knowledgeable about the various types of tea served. The food positively compliments the teas and is always fresh and delicious. The tea room is adorned with all sorts of interesting and tasteful decor, all of which is for sale. However, what makes this tearoom unique from others I have visited, is the staff. The owner and all her hostesses make your experience one in a million. You feel as if you are visiting the gracefully appointed home of an old friend...whether it is your first time there or your 30th. My mother and I have been to every tea room in the Chicago-land area. And I must say this was the VERY best. The price seemed a little high for a high tea but you will NEVER believe the amount of food you will receive. On past tea experiences I left hungry and wanting more. Today we all left stuffed and never have we received such a selection. They started with a lovely fruit cocktail then brought out huge and moist scones. Then the three tier tray arrived. Oh my goodness! There must have seven or eight different sandwiches a vegi quiche, strawberries and five different desserts! We all ordered a different tea and we all were offered and taken up on refills. Recently my neighborhood women's group went to the tearoom for high tea and it was the most delightful experience. The tea selections was large but not overwhelming and the staff was so knowledge able about all of them. The food was amazing and the attention to detail in each tea sandwich was something you don't find in just any tearoom. I was also really impressed that all the desserts are made on the premises-- no wonder they taste so good. I would also like to note that our servers were very attentive to us and everyone else who was in the tearoom that day. The women in the few previous reviews must have reviewed the wrong tea room on accident because what they described was defiantly not the pickwick. I would encourage everyone to visit the pickwick. We will defiantly be back -- we already have reservations in the end of July and I can't wait.

I have enjoyed visiting this tearoom regularly over the past 18 months, but my past two experiences were very disappointing. I guess the place just got busy and forgot how to take care of its customers. The last time I went with my family, we were not offered the second tea that we were promised which was very disappointing. In addition, the food is no longer served in courses; they just placed everything on the table at the beginning. Several of us finished our one little pot of tea before our food, and we left the tea thirsty.

This was my fourth visit to the tea room with my sisters and nieces, 10 of us in all. Past visits had been very plesant. Our last visit on a Saturday near Mother's Day was most disappointing. We had a reservation for and expected the High Tea we had previously experienced, a lovely liesurely tea service with alternating food and teas courses. Instead, we waited a long time for our first tea, and then all of our food courses were dropped at our table at one time, with an explanation that some recent customer had complained that their conversation had been interrupted, and so the service was changing. Upon inquiring about further tea selections, we were told we would have only 1 opportunity to change teas. We had to seek out a server for this second selection. One of my favorite items of the past was the lemon curd with scones, no lemon curd was served with our scones. After we inquired about lemon curd we were brought enough for 1 scone. Our entire experience was on this occasion was very disappointing. Not sure why we were treated in this manner, but surely did not feel very welcome and are not encouraged to return.

Our party was there the weekend before Mothers Day...with reservations months in advance. They double booked us, thru no fault of our own, we compromised and made our reservation earlier---we are REPEAT CUSTOMERS---having been to a 'high tea' here before we had anticipated the food and tea for weeks. We were informed after waiting far too long...that they had changed their tea service to what I could call 'drop and run' not to mention you no long get to alternate teas. Once the food was dropped off, we had to go and find a server to get anything else we needed. We were definitely not the priority that day. Having been there before I really felt as though our being there was quite the inconvenience, and you chose a large party ($$) over your loyal customers. I also attempted to contact you several times the week leading up to the reservation, but you did not have the courtesy to return my emails nor my phone calls; I am sure because you didn't want to tell us about the 'drop and run' change in service or that our party wasn't that important to you. I have to say that I once loved your tea room, and I feel my family of 10 helped make you the #1 tea room in the state, but Cindy you did us wrong, and we will find another tea because of it.

My friend and I traveled a great distance to try out 'Illinois' #1 TeaRoom'. While everything was fine, we were in no way overly impressed. Walking in we felt like it was very 'Grandma's Kitchen', quaint. The server was very nice and pleasant, food was good-but mostly sweet; we felt like we needed more savory items. It would have been nice to have a choice of desserts, versus just a sampler of the breads/cookies/cake. The tea room complimented the surrounding shopping

Fabulous Place. I took my Mother to this location and what a wonderful first tea room experience we had. We arrived behind a large group of young girls and their Mothers/Friends. The hostess was quite accomodating by seating us in a wonderful side porch with a pot of tea. We were not in any hurry so we were happy to sit and chat to allow the servers to manage the large group! We will go back often!

Did not go for organized tea party, just for lunch. This is a cute little place for a nice afternoon tea, light lunch and chat. The server was very helpful and knowledgable about the teas. The tea could have been hotter and had more intense flavor. Chicken salad had nice combo of dried cranberries with dill and celery. I would go back or stop in to buy a gift.

Just came back this afternoon from tea at Pickwick's. Had a lovely three hours there on the porch with my cousin. The place is just charming. I don't know what I expected, but I was very thrilled. We were seated out on the porch which was such a lovely and very private area. Very conducive to chatting, which is what my girlfriend and I went there to do. Sometimes a busy Restaurant is just not conducive to chatting. Do not go here if you are in a hurry. Nothing about this place is done in a hurry. The food was different ( at least to me ) and very tasty. The tea was steeped to perfection. It was drinkable upon pouring and all you need was a touch of sweet to round out the flavor. Doesn't make much sense to drown a tea in half and half or cream. My girlfriend and I split Meg's delightful savory plate and the quiche of the day, as we wanted to sample as much as we could. There was 1 sandwich in particular, it was thinly sliced apples, with Brie cheese on cinnamon swirl toast.... It was to die for... and I am not a Brie cheese lover. The pomegranate White Tea was excelent. Never ending pot of tea is just what it is. My friend and I each had 2 pots, and could have had 2 more, but we needed to get going. We did however regret not getting a little something sweet. That was our own fault however.

Whenever I want to take a few friends out for a relaxing afternoons entertainment, this is one of the first places I thinks to go. The fodd is just right for us ladies and the tea is good. The owner is fun to talk to. I do think the service is a bit slow, but perhaps it is part of the way a tearoom should be, slow and relaxing!

I was looking forward to having a proper cup of tea at Pickwick Society, but was vastly disappointed. The atmosphere was fine, albeit cutesy, the food was decent, but the tea seemed to be hardly steeped, and it's proper to be served milk with your tea, not disposable packets of half and half. I thought I was going to the best tea room in Illinois, not a chintzy diner.

It was a 30 mile drive, but on a lovely day we wanted to chreck it out. Past reviews sounded outstanding.

Depending on what one expects this tearoom was an utter disappointment.

Large variety of teas, but we had to wait at least 25 minutes before it was served. Yes, we had reservations for afternoon tea, so no excuse.

Sandwiches only fair. Chicken salad served on a hard croissant, never heard of a lemon curd sandwich, that's usaually reserved for scones.

The lemon lavender scone was goos but faux devon cream served. You could taste the sour cream.

Pastries : on eggnog tea bread, cashew cookie, shortbread cookie & pomegranate cookie. No little pastries.

      I would not go back.

My mom and I have a tradition to go to high tea each year at Christmas to a different downtown Chicago hotel. This year I found The Pickwick Society on a web search and decided to try it since I knew the Frankfort area and the high standards of the shops and restaurants. We were extremely impressed by the warm atmosphere, the wide variety of tea selections, and the delicious, homemade soup, sandwiches and desserts we were served! The Pickwick Society Tearoom, in our opinion, has a few of those downtown hotels beat hands down based on quality and service. We will definitely return, not just at Christmas!!!

It was the first time that my mom, sister and I ever went to a tea room and I'm so glad we picked this one! We decideed to have the Marmee's afternoon tea, which was delightful! We really liked the very informative tea presentation, which helped us decide on which teas to choose, since there are so many teas - all loose leaf teas (no tea bags here!) ranging from black teas to white teas, with rooibos' and mate's in the mix of them all. Didn't know much about all these teas until now! We really enjoyed taking the time to pick the type of tea to accompany our finger sandwiches and desserts - which by the way, were delicious (and could not have done that without their informative tea presentation). If you want to have a total tea experience as we did, then this is the place for you!

After a return visit today with a friend who missed my birthday tea over a month ago, I can definitely say I enjoyed it as much the second time as the first time with a group. My friends all liked the variety of teas, different teacups and the history of the teas. The food is excellent, especially the chicken salad. The variety of cookies and pastries makes for a tough decision which to try. I'm glad I live reasonably close by so I can stop in any week-end. I'm anxious for another visit before Christmas to try some more of the seasonal goodies. This place is a must-try for anyone who enjoys different teas, cider, lemonade, and wonderful pastries.

Having missed my friend's birthday party which was also held here, she agreed to take me for my birthday! What a special treat! What I loved most about this tea room is that unlike those at hotels, I didn't feel like I was so much in a restaurant as in a private home conversing with the owner who had prepared high tea for me. The tea selection was excellent, especially recommend the vanilla cream rooibos tea and the food was imaginative, had lovely flavor combinations and I left feeling quite full to boot! The knowledge of tea that the owner imparted to me not only made my tea choices more intelligent, but added to the overall ambiance of the experience. Thanks again Michele for introducing me to this gem of a find; I will certainly be back!

My mom, myself, and some of her friends celebrated her birthday with high tea. I have experienced high tea several different places in downtown Chicago, and this place truly puts them to SHAME! Cindy, the owner of the tea shop personally sat down with me a few days prior to select a menu for the event, and give me her advice on seasonal delights. There are 3 courses, where you get to pick 12 different food items from nearly 100 choices...and that is just the food! High tea started with the owner personally giving us a seminar on EACH of the nearly 20 teas (a brief history or cute story on each, how it’s grown, which food it might nicely match up with, if better served iced or hot, etc.), and then passed the loose tea around for us to smell before selecting. Every person was able to pick a different tea with each course; that’s 3 different pots of tea per person. The tea was served in a unique cup, saucer and pot, and no two cups were alike at the table. We had a great time, the atmosphere was comfortably elegant and inviting, and as a bonus we left there smarter about tea in general. Did I also mention we definitely did NOT leave there hungry? The food and sweets were as delicious as the teas. This is a unique, quaint, treasure in the Suburbs, and a must visit!

I came to Illinois from Nevada to celebrate my sister's birthday last Sunday. I won't say how many years old!!! The room was relaxing and having the different teas explained to us and being able to smell them helped us all make our decision. They even serve lemonade for people who don't drink tea. I chose the iced teas since it was a hot day but loved the fact that everybody gets a different designed tea cup. My favorite food was the veggie pizza, chocolate mousse in a chocolate cup, and the pumpkin bread. I don't live close enough to visit often but will return with my sister next time I'm in town.

Having Just had 'Afternoon Tea' at the Drake last week, I am once again impresseed by the quality of the tea service at the Pickwick. The Pickwick gives you an enormous selection for both sweets and savory as well as generous proportions of both. You get to use real china (not the thick resaurant fare) and the tea itself is delicious. Service there is promp, yet not pushy and the ambience is very homey and comfortable. we selected the pickwick tearoom for our niece's bridal shower in march and it fulfilled our expectations completely. the mini 'tea lesson' educated our guests & gave the shower a unique flavor. the cozy atmosphere was relaxed making our guests feel at home. there was such a warm feeling throughout. everyone raved about the chicken salad, fruit cups & cucumber sandwiches which were presented by a friendly, attentive staff. we were even able to add personal touches making the day memorable for the bride-to be. thanks for everything! & we look forward to bringing our british cousins for a visit in june. :)

Wonderful experience. I've always preferred Warm and Welcoming to Elegant and Sophisticated, so Pickwick's fit the bill perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious. There's more than one of the finger sandwiches that I just can't get out of my mind, insuring a return trip very soon. There were only 3 of us, and yet I think we managed to try just about every tea they had

(and there were plenty to be had!). I pretty much loved them all, which made picking out the ones I wanted to take home a real dilemma. The service was just as sweet and friendly as the place itself. This is definitely a 'Don't Miss'.

My teenaged cousin and I came to the Pickwick to celebrate her birthday and we loved it! We have been to a number of Afternoon Teas before but never have we come away with so much 'tea knowledge!' The owner spends about 10 minutes with you at the onset, explaining about each tea they offer and letting you smell the little 'tester' jars of the loose leaf tea so you have a great idea of which ones you might like to try. The food was delicious and the opportunity to try a couple different teas, all included in your Tea price, was so nice. The atmosphere is homey and cute...not exactly elegant, though the food and teas rival those of the fancy hotels downtown. We will be back!

Last weekend I threw an afternoon bridal tea for my sister at the Pickwick. Prior to making our tea selections we got to smell all of the teas and hear about their caffeine content and beneficial qualities. Because 2 of our party members are lactose-intolerant some of the food items had to be adjusted, which they were very helpful and cheerful about. We never felt like we were imposing on their good will. I would highly recommend Pickwick for any and all occasions. It's a really fun place to go without the stuffiness of some teahouses.

This was the second time to Pickwick. I took my almost four year old daughter with me because she loves to play tea with her dolls and in the tub. She often asks me to join in at the most difficult time of day, dinner prep. To her delight, for just a little mommy daughter time, we left daddy and her brother at home for the afternoon to go have tea. It was so much fun! We had the bright sunny sunroom to ourselves! They brought a big 'tea bucket' out for her to play with while they prepared our lunch. WE each had our own menu to choose from and she even received her own sized teacup and saucer for her chocalate milk tea.

We had a pleasant time together playing tea on the floor with the toys and the real thing at the table. It was a very memorible day with wonder food, I recommend the chicken salad. The staff was friendly and added to the special day. We'll be back soon!

Service was slower then slow. It took forever to get our food. One of the ladies at the table near us actually walked into the kitchen to ask what her holdup was.

Food was so so (all you could hear in the dining room I was in was the sound of the microwave 'ding') small portions and over proced.

The tea was cold. It also smelled like and tasted like a wet goat.

On the plus side the menu and idea/design was cute. And, when we did see our waitstaff person, she was nice.

What I can't understand was why it was crowded. My only conclusion was it is the only tearoom in the area and it is in a busy and popular shopping location.

I would not go back again and I would not recommend it.

My husband and I went here on a cold day in January. He is from England so we thought what a treat. Definately not what we expect from a tea room. It's a great idea, however, the service was poor, the tea and food lacking and it needs more polish. It's fine for a children's party but I would not recommend it for adults.
