Tea On The Tiber
Elegance. Historicity. Decadence. These three words swiftly come to mind when I think of my experience at Tea on the Tiber. I visited this pampering tearoom with my friend at the beginning of September, and I was struck by the lavish interior details to include cut glass chandliers, two roaring fireplaces, and sumputous period wallpaper. The food matched this care and attention to detail with freshly made and filling treats of a copious variety, beautifully arranged. There were many of varieties of teas to choose from, and the teas were of the finest whole leaf variety. (I always check!) Our server was dressed as a period parlor maid complete with ruffled pinafore. Although she was in training, she was courteous, prompt, and affable, as was the entire staff. The hostess was charming, and the busy manager even made time to personally check on our table. This is truly the perfect venue for relaxation. I have been to several tea rooms in the tri-state area as well as at the Pierre in NYC -- and found this tea room a true value for its holistic artistry, warm service, and satisfying delights for the palate!
