There didn't seem to be an afternoon tea service, but the tea itself is excellent. The owner is extremely pleasant and her Orange Creamsicle tea was divine. The chair is also great and strong enough for dedicated tea drinkers. I found the room a bit dark, but once you're seated you don't notice.

For the price, this is not worth it. We paid $55 each for the high tea and so we (not surprisingly) had high expectations. Unfortunately most of the savories were not very exciting and while the service was good, overall we were disappointed. The tea room itself is very elegant, so moms who are not picky about their food would probably love it. (Mine is just as picky as me. :)) The $20+ for parking left an even more sour taste in the mouth.

  • The British Pantry

I've been going to the British Pantry for years, the food is excellent (especially fish-n-chips) and the waitresses have been there forever. They are brisker than American staff but I find them pleasant and helpful. The high tea is nice but lacking in savory sandwiches (they just do cucumber sandwiches). However the baked treats and fruit pies make up for it! The tea is always hot and the food tasty and filling.

I've been going to Remedy for years now. It has a more modern feel than most tea rooms but is very comfy. If you're looking for a traditional British high tea with decor, you'll be disappointed. (No scones with curd, etc.) But if you want nice tea with food in pleasant surroundings, you will enjoy it. They have over a hundred different blends and a very nice afternoon tea with truffles and treats. There's something for everyone.

Very nice and the staff are friendly whenever we go. They have a great tea selection and many tea related gifts (such as an adorable fairy tea set for children that I got for my niece!) They don't serve food/tea on the premises, which is very disappointing, but it's a great tea store. The extra earl grey tea is divine.

    Tearoom response:

Because we have chosen not to be a restaurant we only have pre-wrapped comestibles such as McVities English biscuits, Seattle's Own Shortbread which is locally baked, and we serve cups of tea to sit or to go.

Thanks for coming in - hope your niece likes the Flower Fairies tea set.

  • Tea Room at Port Gamble

We drove from Seattle for an event being held here and I have to say it was worth the drive. The owner is really sweet, the tea room is bright and clean, and they have the cutest set of hats you can wear with tea. The tea itself was very nice and the scones were tasty. We would definitely go back again just for the service and the quaint town feel.

  • Elizabeth and Alexander's English Tea Room

We traveled many miles to try out this tea room based on reviews. I think it is hit-or-miss. If you go to tons of tea rooms in search of the perfect high tea (like us), keep looking. But it's reasonable if you're nearby and want a decent afternoon tea. The tea room decor is okay and the tea itself was average. The food was beautifully presented and most of it nice. Service was fairly slow and we had to get up in order to get our check.

We came with high hopes and drove many miles just to come here. This is a nice tea room but we encountered a few rough edges. We waited for quite some time before we were seated and the overall time it took for everything to be served was two hours. They were busy so we tried to be understanding and the tea we drank was excellent (loose leaf). The main thing that disappointed us was that the owner seated a single person at a roomy 4-person table while our party of 2 was squeezed at a tiny table near the door. We ordered first but the other person got served first (same food we ordered). Because the other person was a regular, we felt like our business was not as important. This is nice if you're a regular but not as nice if you're new. If we're in the area, we'll give it another try.

    Tearoom response:

I am so sorry you had a less than perfect experience at our establishment. I am confident that if you should choose to return you will be as pleased as all our other customers that have given us 5 star ratings. On weekends we are super busy and we do the best we can with the tables we have (all the same size). Thank you for your comments.
