this is a tea merchant not a tea room. they will make up any tea you wish to sample before purchase-a big plus. they do have a couple a tables and chairs where you can have tea and a limited number of sweets. a bright, cheery, clean place. very casual. mainly and order to go place. they are in downtown wheaton, a block from the metra station. street parking can be tight, but there is a free multi-storied parking lot across the street from them. some great shopping in the area. totally barrier free.
despite the name this is a regular restaurant that serves lunch and dinner and only serves a proper full/high tea on select holidays. tea is bagged and a pot of water to make yourself at table. with that said, the lunch i had was good. there name sake fresh made crumpets 4star. nice staff. beautifully decorated bathromm. located in there downtown area and had good street parking. if i was driving through that area i would stop again but i wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
a seriously nice place. the food has always been excellent. there earl grey, my favorite, is one of the best. i would, and i do, recommend it to everyone.
