Just left the High Tea Cottage and couldn't wait to leave a review. This IS the best Tea shop in LA. After going to Pasadena, downtown and even out to Lancaster none compare or compete on this level. Tea fare is consistently fresh, tasty and traditional. Tea sandwiches are small as they should be and the most variety I have ever been offered. No less than 8 flavore were served with my Lady Hamilton selection. The scone came straight from the oven with 2 flavore and a jam cart offered us 5 jams to choose from and we had lashings of clotted cream. A tea cart offered us over 150 teas to smell and choose from. The owners are lovely and knowledgeable. My guests and I were served quickly and friendly. Peter the Butler is very kind and eager to please and serve. To John O below I did not 'receive a discount' to leave a review, the water in out tea was boiling and they brought fresh tea often, always hot. This definitely is not a 'poor excuse for a Tea house' as you wrote. I doubt you were ever there! This place is wonderful. Without a doubt go and be sure to make a reservation. They are quite busy at the weekends .

    Tearoom response:

Millie, it was our pleasure to have you and your family and friends celebrate the additional female member joining your family soon, (actually really soon!) We look forward to seeing you all again in January '09 for the Christening Tea. Have a safe, healthy and happy holiday season and let us know when baby Sage enters the world.

Nothing ids made or baked on the premises, food is made off site and shipped in and not that good. Tea bags are a definite NO NO, Place is decorated cheaply in a terrible location in an office building. Service was only average. Not worth the time or the money in our opinion.

Last weekend we came to the special Joyeux Noel Tea, a Royal Tea fit for a Queen, if you like being packed in like sardines, paying $50 for sub standard fare and pushed in and out without time to enjoy, then this is the tea for you, my friends and I were sadly very disappointed, we expected something far more grand as advertised on the website, not worth the long drive. For the extremely high price we were expecting a true Royal Tea fit for a Queen, not what was served. We love Teamap though!!!
