Great place. The decor is quaint and country with cabbage rose wallpaper, wood accents, plenty of cute Paddingtom bears around. It's like taking tea at your English grannie's house. Very comfortable and relaxing. Great food prepared fresh and to order. Service was excellent. Never saw the bottom of my cup because the server kept it full and even went so far as to clarify if I picked up the teacup with my right or left hand so she could place it properly. Scones are to die for. Soft, warm from the oven and with perhaps just a slight hint of lemon. The street parking can be a bit tough so bring quarters. My advice, it's small and cozy; perfect for a quiet tea and a book so call ahead. If you're looking for something posh and ritzy looking and don't care if the tea and food is good, then Paddington's isn't your place. If you want a relaxing tea with great food, go for it. I understand why Paddington's caters to the Royal Family!

  • Chado Tea Room

The variety of teas at this very small tea room is staggering and the place gets points for that and for at least knowing how to prepare the tea properly. Beyond that.. well, it wasn't worth it. Crowded, noisy with poor service and rotten food. The tea sandwiches were mediocre, the scones were warmed over rocks and I never did get the clotted cream I asked for. And forget about parking. It's street parking and on the weekend nonexistant. So go to buy tea and take it home, but don't bother with a tea service. I've been having tea on a regular basis for years, and I can safely say I'll never have tea at Chado again. For the positive reviews on this, I have to ask. Ever had a true high Tea and did we even go to the same place?
