  • One Steep at a Thyme

My husband and I enjoy visiting tea rooms (including other states and countries). I'm so glad that I happened to check tea map for any new tea rooms and found One Steep at a Thyme. They say a first impression is a lasting one, well needless to say I just knew we were going to enjoy our Afternoon Tea the minute we walked into One Steep at a Thyme. Perfect...the only way to describe One Steep at a Thyme Tea Room. The owner Kathy has done such a wonderful job that I don't think there's anything she could even improve on. The teas, scones, tea sandwiches, desserts and presentation can only be described as excellent. I have a habit of taking the business cards from Tea Rooms that I would recommend to others who would enjoy a Tea Room experience and I can assure you that when I left, I had a handful of cards. This was the first of many future visits.

    Tearoom response:

Dick and Mary...so glad you found us! Truly enjoy your visits and it has been our pleasure to welcome you back. We'll keep the silver sparkling...until next time...thanks, Kathy

My husband and I visit 2 to 3 tearooms per week and last week we had tea here for the first time. Not only was the food and service wonderful, but we had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Susan was so easy to talk to and made our visit even more enjoyable. There was so much food, that we took home our desserts and enjoyed them the next day. A visit to this tearoom is a must if you truly enjoy going to Afternoon Tea and we are looking forward to our next visit in the very near future.

  • The Scone Shoppe

My husband and I enjoy visiting tearooms and we happened to overhear two ladies talking about The Scone Shoppe while we were in another tearoom in August, 2009. Well since then we have visited about once every 2 weeks or so. It's about 40 miles from home but if it were closer we would be there on a weekly basis. The Shoppe is family owned and run by a Mother (Pat) & Daughter (Theresa) with other family members (Son, Joey & Aunt, Jerry)working there. Not only is the food wonderful but the scones are exceptional. You get to choose your scone from a variety of about 10 to 12 different flavors to go along with your Afternoon Tea. It's not just a tearoom, you can also get breakfast and lunch and take scones to go (which we always do). When we come here they make us feel like family not just another customer. Once you visit, you will be like us and tell others about it so they can enjoy it as much as we do (one visit and your hooked).

  • Iris & Ivory Tea House, Cafe and Gift Shop

My husband and I enjoy visiting tea rooms so while visiting my brother and sister-in-law in the Pittsburgh area I made a reservation at Iris & Ivory Café and Tea House which I found on the Teamap.com website. Well my husband and I know an exceptional tea room when we visit one and this definitely is one. We were seated in the Iris Room which is very elegantly decorated which made our tea experience even more enjoyable. Our Afternoon Tea started with us choosing our tea from a large selection of loose teas, then a fresh fruit cup. We then received our three tiered service which consisted of assorted tea sandwiches, a slice of quiche, two scones each, a very good size cream puff (not one of those mini ones) and a slice of cake. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner Michelle and had such a wonderful time talking about our tea room experiences with her. If you don’t visit Iris & Ivory you will really be missing out on a wonderful Tea Room experience.

  • New Leaf Tea Room & Gift Shoppe

My husband and I enjoy visiting the New Leaf Tea Room because of the delicious food which includes scones, tea sandwiches, deserts and of course a pot of tea. The presentation of the food and the atmosphere of the tea room can only be described as beautifully done because of the owner Phyllis who makes you feel so welcome when you arrive. I also love the gift shop which has a wonderful selection of tea related items to choose from. If you don’t visit the New Leaf, you will be missing out on a wonderful Tea Room experience.

  • The Painted Tea Cup

My husband and I recently had High Tea and what a memorable time we had. The owner, Mary, prepares all the fantastic food (little sandwiches, quiche, scones, fruit cup and mini desserts) and of course your choice of tea which is beautifully presented and graciously served by her. She also makes all her own jellies & jams which she uses and sells in her gift shop (needless to say, I had to buy some jam plus a few other items). Can’t wait for our next visit which hopefully will be very soon and we will be bringing a friend along.

  • AntiquiTea

My husband and I enjoy visiting tea rooms, so while visiting my brother and sister-in-law in the Pittsburgh area I made a reservation at AntiquiTea which I found on the TeaMap website. My brother and sister-in-law have never been to a tea room so this was going to be a first for them. Well my husband and I know an exceptional tea room when we visit one and this definitely is one. We all enjoyed the delicious artichoke soup, the tea sandwiches, scones and mini desserts. We were fortunate enough to meet one of the proprietors, Nicole (she is the daughter of the mother/daughter ownership)and had such a wonderful time talking about our tea room experiences with her. If you don't visit AntiquiTea you will really be missing out on a wonderful Tea Room experience.

  • The Lizzie Rose

Tea should always be relaxing, comfortable and enjoyed with friends and that's how we feel every time we have tea at the Lizzie Rose. When my husband and I visit with Liz (the owner), it's like going to one of your best friends house. We visit about once a month and Liz does all the cooking, baking and serving herself, that's why it's like being in a friend's home. The scones, tea sandwiches, desserts and presentation can only be described as excellent. The tea room takes up only a small part (only about 5 tables) of this beautifully restored Victorian home while the major part is a fabulous gift shop. I always have a handful of the Lizzie Rose business cards and I can be seen handing them out to those who will not accept anything but excellent when describing what you can expect when you have Afternoon Tea at the Lizzie Rose.

  • Amelia's Teas & Holly

My husband and I enjoy visiting tea rooms and since it was my birthday, I asked him to take me to some new tea rooms as a way to celebrate and Amelia's was one of my choices. When we walked into the tea room we were very cordially welcomed and to me that's when my first impression starts. The rooms and tables are decorated beautifully in a Victorian style and the chairs are so comfortable. Our Queen's Tea, including soup, tea sandwiches, scones, desserts and of course a pot of tea was delicious. When they found out that it was my birthday, they presented me with a teapot ornament as a remembrance of a wonderful day. Amelia's is on our list of return to Tea Room's and bring a friend.
