LOVE this tearoom! I took my mom and sister here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We all tried the Royal Tea and it was absolutely delicious. I surprised my mom by pre-ordering one of their teapot cakes at the time I made the reservation. It was beautifully decorated and moist and flavorful. Tea choices come in large sized pots that are kept warm with tea cozy coverings. This tearoom is well worth the two hour drive (for us) to get there. Best of all, they offer gluten free menu items -- so hard to find in a tearoom, usually. I tried the Yorkshire Gold tea, my sister had the Assam, and my mom tried the Dragon Green Tea. We were all very pleased with the service and quality. One of the servers sang happy birthday to my mom upon the close of our meal - a lovely way to end our visit.

I've been a patron of this tearoom since it opened in 2007. A visit to Cape May just isn't complete until you taste the scones, lemon curd, tea sandwiches and baked treats from Peg's shop. Summer heat won't ruin your tea room visit because you can refresh yourself with giant goblets of iced tea if you choose to. The 'butterfly' theme is carried throughout the shop in decorations and displays. Absolutely delightful!

My mom, sister and I visit this tea room a couple of times each year. We went the Saturday before Easter and had a wonderful time. There are new cushy chairs and the table layout has been improved. The food, tea and atmosphere are top notch and the little store is an absolute delight. You can't go wrong with the savory or afternoon tea service and PG Tips brand tea. A+ all the way!

    Tearoom response:

Mary Helen, it was a pleasure having you and we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Thank you for the kind words and for spreading the word about our little taste of Britain

  • Twinings Tearoom

I'm from Virginia and love coming to the Carriage House (formerly Twinings) Tea Room in Cape May. Their Victorian Tea service with Harney and Sons teabags in your own teapot, plus salad or soup, a variety of tea sandwiches, fruit garnish, teabreads, scones, and clotted cream leaves me feeling relaxed and pampered. You can sip your tea inside the carriage room or outside under the climate controlled tent with a view of the gardens and fountains. Simply lovely!

This tea room just opened in November 2008. The owner and her staff are very welcoming and enthusiastic. I tried the Full Afternoon Tea and enjoyed a pot of British Breakfast tea and a second pot of Ginger Peach. Other teas are Earl Gray, Pomegranate Rose and Honey Ginseng Green Tea. Tables are set with teapots and patterned china. I like that the pots are kept warm with a tea cozy after being brought back to the table with your choice of brewed and strained loose leaf tea. Full Afternoon Tea came with soup (homemade chicken noodle), a cranberry scone - warm from the oven served with lemon curd, clotted cream and preserves, tea sandwiches, Irish Banger Roll (sausage in puff pastry), and desserts. My favorite tea sandwiches were the crab cake and salmon with guacamole, so different, and with a savory flair. The carrot cake was wonderful - moist and flavorful with a white cream frosting and lots of minced carrot. I'm glad this tea room has opened and plan on returning again!

  • The Pink Bicycle Tea Room

I've been a patron of this tearoom since it first opened. Both owners have kept the same sense of style and quality. The tea menu is extensive including, black, green, white, flavored, herbal, organic, and decaf teas. My favorite tea service is the Queen's Tea. Unlimited refills of your tea selection and all the treats and trimmings: soup or salad, scones, tea sandwiches, fruit, sweets. Service is always friendly, and the place is popular, so reservations are recommended.
