I've made my annual reservation for the Holiday Afternoon Tea at Gypsy’s Tea Room and I can scarcely wait! I have been to this charming historic tea room several times and have never been disappointed. The service is impeccable and the staff is very accommodating. I love bringing my girl friends here so they can feel pampered and unwind in the relaxing and charming atmosphere. The food and scones are delicious and I love the Special Event teas they offer (have attended their Candlelight Tea in the past.) My Happy Holiday's start here with a peaceful cup of the perfect blend.

I have mixed feelings and a mixed review on this tea room. It took a bit to locate it as the photo displayed on the page here is not the building that it is currently located in. When we arrived my husband and I were seated at a small table in a tiny room that also had another couple with their distracting 4-year-old child. I was disappointed that we were not seated in the other room with just two young ladies in it. This was a poor hostess choice as we would have preferred a more relaxing tea time. The tea at least was good and the owner offered refills to our pots throughout our stay. The tiered tray was disappointing. The scone was the best part but the other items left a lot to be desired. The sandwiches were uninspired and the "American" Cheese and tomato one was just sad. The worst part was they store bought chocolate chip cookie . The Queen herself would shake her head over this choice.

This is by far one of my favorite places to visit in Frederick. The tea selection is excellent and the scones are beyond melt in your mouth delicious. What really makes this tearoom outstanding is that they also serve as a restaurant (so feel free to bring the hubby along). They host a traditional tiered tea tray as well as a mouthwatering Southern inspired menu for heartier appetites (lunch and dinner). Amazing Saturday Brunch with the best Chicken and Waffles I have ever had. Blanch Henry, the owner, has Southern hospitality down pat and you will certainly feel it from the moment you arrive at this hidden gem.

Love this little tea shop. The staff are very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Small but sweet atmosphere. They have some over the counter foods but not many -- more like a scone on the go.
